Very happy to announce that Penguins is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon MP3 store. We’re also working on a limited edition CD run that will be available in Jan 2010 for release in conjunction with the new Made By Robot Store (more news on that after the holidays).

Numbers Stations Compilation Jan 15th 2010

Friday, December 4th, 2009

The Numbers Stations, compilation project has been compiled and passed off to the awesome folks over at PublicSpaces Lab netlabel.

The current release date is Jan 15th 2010, on the public spaces lab releases section.

I’m very excited about this project, it was great to work with such a talented group of artists who provided such a broad range of tracks, that all still had a common root sound – samples of shortwave recordings from so called ‘numbers stations’.

I’m already thinking we might need to repeat the challenge in the new year since I think we may have only scratched the surface of what is possible with these excellent audio soundscapes.

Swaying Smoke Remix of Thursday Afternoons

Thursday Afternoons (Swaying Smoke Remix) by madebyrobot

I was deeply honored when James Lowery (Swaying Smoke) contacted me to let me know he’d been working on a remix of Thursday Afternoon the opening track on Penguins (link to iTunes). I was even happier when I heard his mix, which I think paints a nice spin on the original. Many thanks James.

And don’t forget if you’re interested in working on a mix or a totally new track using the raw stems, they are all available on my Band Camp site, just let me know what you do with them.
